If you’re looking for a replacement rigging screw welded jaw & swage stud, then have a good look through our great selection on the Rope Services Direct website. You can also browse our swaged terminals and swageless terminals too. Rigging screws with a welded jaw & swaged stud are practical tensioning devices used in marine, architectural, and industrial applications. These hybrid fasteners combine two different connection methods to provide secure, adjustable wire rope systems.
These contemporary rigging screws are made from marine-grade AISI 316 stainless steel, these rigging screws resist corrosion even in harsh saltwater environments. The polished finish not only looks professional but also helps prevent dirt and salt build-up.
The jaw and swage design offers the best of both worlds. The welded jaw end features a clevis pin that connects to fixed anchor points, posts, or frames. The swaged stud end creates a permanent, secure connection to wire rope by being hydraulically compressed onto the cable.
Using these stainless rigging screws is pretty straightforward. The swaged stud end permanently attaches to your wire rope using a hydraulic swaging machine, which compresses the terminal around the cable for maximum strength. Once swaged, this connection cannot be removed or reused.
The other end features a threaded jaw with a removable pin. This jaw pivots freely and connects to anchor points, eye bolts, or other hardware.
One screw end is left-hand threaded whilst the other end has threads that twist to the right which means the tension is adjustable by turning the frame. It also allows both of the terminals to be screwed in or out at the same time without causing damage to fittings or the wire rope through twisting.
Perfectly designed for adjusting the tension of your wire rope as needed, as well as balustrade systems and other tensioning methods. Additionally, they can withstand moist air and salt so are very tough.
Rigging screw welded jaw / swage studs are very commonly used in the sailing, marine and fishing industries.
These versatile rigging screws are ideal for balustrading systems, structural cable work, and general rigging applications. They're particularly useful when you need a permanent connection to wire rope on one end and adjustable attachment on the other.
Popular applications include deck railings, architectural cable systems, guy wires, and marine rigging where precise tension control is essential.
